Below are some answers to frequently asked follow-up questions about our process and services. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, give us a call. We’d love to talk.
You have questions? We have answers.
Do you only print t-shirts?
We’re proud to offer an extensive catalog of apparel and promotional items. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Give us a call or send us an email.
Can I print just one item or promotional item?
We believe in free will. Print as few garments as you like, but be forewarned. Most of the costs associated with screen printing come from time spent and equipment used during setup. The more you print, the cheaper the item will become.
In fact, to honor those crazies out there who just want one item “no matter the cost!”, we’ll level with you. It costs $150 to mock up the artwork, create the films, burn the screens, and fire up the presses. If you want one t-shirt for $150, we’ll happily oblige.
For promotional items, minimums for certain products are 50 units per order — but this can vary. Work with a member of our creative team to find out which promo items are best for you or your company.
Can I provide my own garments?
Absolutely! Our goal is to give you the exact product that you are looking for. That being said, we will charge a nominal Provided Garment Fee. Given that we are not sourcing the fabric, we cannot in good conscience guarantee perfect results. This will require extra time testing and potentially reprinting. When you source your item through us, we vet the material and ensure that every single unit meets our standards of perfection.
What is the most cost-effective way to execute a t-shirt idea?
Screen printing is like painting. If you select one dark ink to be printed on a light garment, you will achieve the lowest cost available. Printing lighter inks on darker material requires both an undercoat and topcoat, incurring an additional cost.
Do I need to pay for my shirts now?
Unlike other companies who demand payment before your order is printed, we only accept 50% upfront on orders exceeding $1,000. We’ll take the other half when you’re a satisfied customer.
What is your standard turnaround time?
For screen-printed projects, we ensure delivery in 7-10 business days upon artwork approval. Embroidery will take 10-12 business days. We partner with UPS Ground, but will happily use your preferred delivery service upon request. Rush delivery will guarantee a 24-hour turnaround, but you MUST call the shop. Same day delivery MAY be available before 10 am and also mandates a call to the shop. Pick-up is always available. You will be notified upon completion of your order.
Can anything delay the standard turnaround time?
If your product requires another step of finishing, like printed or hem tags, we may need additional time depending on the specs of your project. But don’t worry, we will update you every step of the way, so you know what you are getting and when to expect it. Other holdups may include multiple rounds of design mockups with the creative department, delayed art approval, or delayed payment on the initial invoice.
What if I already have my design and don’t need creative help?
Cool! Send it over! We accept .JPG, .PSD, .PNG, .AI, .PDF, and .EPS. We’ll let you know how it looks when we get it to verify that we’re printing quality you are happy with.
I want to screen print on something out of the ordinary.
First of all, that’s not a question. Second of all, we LOVE trying new things. Give us a call and explain your idea to someone in our creative department. We’re a very accommodating group of people.
Will your inks come off in the wash or wear over time?
Under no circumstances should any of our inks come off in the wash. Given the quality of both our screen printing material and inks, in addition to the multi-step drying and curing process, Studio One branded items stay branded.
What kind of inks do you use?
After market testing, we’ve decided that high-quality plastisol is our preferred ink. For other ink options, explore our screen printing section or call us.
What is your standard imprint area?
Our standard imprint size is 14″ x 16″, but we do custom and oversized up to 16” x “18 manual.
